Well, honestly speaking, I am bit disappointed how little fuss has this issue caused. Apart of few people on Twitter, who did their best to "promote" this issue, nobody gave a damn and Tesla share price went up a bit.
Musk is made from Teflon, nothing stick to him. What else should make him suffer than such story: Unfortunately , on Monday, people will go ballistic about new debt ceiling and this will be buried. Which is a shame, for a change, I wanted that my short position on TSLA would make some money :-)
Give it time. The article only came out four days ago and it's being reported around the world. Further digging could come from journalists who get a peak at the files. Also, this has to put more pressure on the US regulators to act, especially the NHTSA.
Hi Mr. Munchen...You promised us a post on why Mr. Fraudsburger went to China to kiss the ring of Comrade Xi, but so far nothing. Hopefully, whoever is protecting Mr. Fraudsburger didn't get to you.
I think you're overly optimistic about NHTSA doing ANYTHING. Their record speaks for itself.
Thanks for remembering my promise to write something on Musk's visit to China to kowtow in front of the CCP's feet. You're the only one who noticed that I didn't deliver. And it has to do with complicated capacity exchanges between Tesla's factories outside of China that I still need to confirm. But the report will drop this week.
NHTSA not going after Tesla is the consensus. But, I think the work they've done on Autopilot accidents since July 2021 compels them to enforce. Buttigieg hates Tesla. Let's hope the Powers That Be let him prosecute Tesla for all of their safety issues.
Thanks for responding. Perhaps you know better than I regarding any future enforcement of the myriad issues surrounding the GodKing, but I'm not sure I would want to bet my lunch money on Buttigieg. That is one odd duck.
If you hear him utter the words "enforcement discretion", that is the code for "we're not doing ordure" and the gig is up.
I am wondering if the DeSantis presidential launch on Twitter was pre-emptively defensive by Musk with the aim of claiming any government action by Biden is political persecution.
That's the "tin-foil hat" theory, but I doubt it. Tesla was notified by Handelsbatt of their article on May 10th. The DeSantis presidential launch was on May 24th. So maybe Musk had time to wire that event up due to the coming scoop, but DeSantis would've taken more time to agree, imo.

IMMENSELY enjoy your work.

Wow, that's huge. Totally discredits Tesla...
"refunds as high as $5 billion for every car with Autopilot" - typo?
He means 5b total if they issue a refund for every car
